In Australia, around 1 in 150 people are currently diagnosed with epilepsy – so chances are most people know someone with the condition. While epilepsy is relatively common, it is widely misunderstood, and many people do not know what to do in the case of a seizure.

This course has been designed for anyone wanting to learn more about epilepsy and is suitable for professionals including carers, teachers and disability workers, as well as those living with epilepsy and their family and friends.

We recommend doing the Epilepsy Essentials course every year to 2 years. You will need to have done the Epilepsy Essentials course in the last 12 months to qualify for an Emergency Medications certificate.
