Emergency Medications - Diazepam: Theory and Practical Certification

During this self-paced online session you’ll learn about common emergency medications used for seizures; why it is used; how to manage seizure emergencies; your responsibilities during the process; and how to practically administer the medication in a safe and timely manner.

Please note before purchase:

  1. To complete this course, participants need to have received a certificate for our Epilepsy Essentials course within the last 12 months. If we cannot establish that participants have previously completed Epilepsy Essentials within this period, the certificate of completion for Emergency Medications-Diazepam will be withheld.
  2. A sample kit will be sent for the practical assessment component of this course via Australia Post and therefore participants cannot enrol and complete the course on the same day. Your continued enrolment in the course is deemed as your acceptance of that condition. 
  3. Please note this course covers rectal Diazepam only. For any other administration route, please contact our Education team.

How do I complete this course? 

This course is delivered completely online and is self-paced. Participants will be required to film and upload their practical assessment video for our assessors to mark.

This course is to be completed within 3 months.

Please allow 3-5 hours to complete this course. 

Is anything required before I start? 

To successfully complete this course, participants need to have recently completed Epilepsy Essentials training and hold a current first aid certificate or CPR competency.

What happens when I finish the course? 

Participants will be required to complete quizzes and a practical assessment before receiving a certificate of completion.
