This training covers seizure emergencies and how they are managed with midazolam outside the hospital setting. This is for people who have previously completed our emergency medications course, allowing the option to undertake a refresher of this topic for those with existing knowledge.

How do I complete this course? 

This course is delivered online and is self-paced. Each topic starts with a short quiz to check what you already know.

  • If you pass the quiz, you do not need to review that topic theory, and it will be marked as complete.
  • If you do not pass the quiz, you must review the topic and finish the activities before moving on.

Then you need to undertake the final online interactive assessments to pass the course.

How long do I have to complete the course?  

This course is to be completed within 3 months.  

How long does it take to complete this course? 

Please allow at least 30-45 minutes to complete this course, exact time will depend on your existing knowledge.  

Is anything required before I start? 

To successfully complete this course, participants need to have completed Epilepsy Essentials training in the last 2 years and should hold a current first aid certificate/CPR competency.

What happens when I finish the course? 

After successfully completing the online learning assessments, a certificate will be emailed to you within 2 hours. 

Note: This course provides you with the knowledge to administer emergency medication for seizures, but it does not replace hands-on practice. We strongly recommend that you practice this skill in a practical setting using the appropriate equipment to build confidence and competence. 

How often do you recommend doing the course? 

We recommend completing Emergency Medications annually to maintain your knowledge and skills.
