Overview
Do you care for or work with someone with an intellectual disability?
Epilepsy is more common in people who live with intellectual disability than for the rest of the population and it is estimated that 1 in 5 people with intellectual disability have epilepsy.
There are unique challenges and issues that arise when someone has epilepsy and an intellectual disability. The course covers some of the challenges faced, identifying and recognising types of seizures and the impact on quality of life.
Please note this course does not cover seizure first aid.

This half-hour course is designed for support workers and families to provide an understanding of living with epilepsy and disability.

This course is delivered completely online and is self-paced.

This course is to be completed within 3 months.

Please allow 30-45 minutes to complete this course.
Is anything required before I start?
There are no prerequisites for this course, however for an overview of epilepsy and seizure first aid it is suggested that Epilepsy Essentials is completed first.
What happens when I finish?
Participants will be required to complete a quiz at the end of the course and will then receive a certificate of completion.
